About us

Parcham meaning flag or banner, the name inspired by the poetry of Majaz, is a registered non-profit feminist collective in Mumbra, Thane, that envisions a just and equitable society that values difference and interdependence. Parcham has been empowering young girls to dream of a financially independent future since 2012. Our comprehensive interventions in sports, education for children, citizenship education, and employability benefit marginalised women and girls by providing innovative answers to long-standing development issues. It started with a group of adolescents and women, in Mumbra, Thane, Maharashtra, who came together in 2012, to break stereotypes based on religion, class, caste, gender and other marginalization and to create a society respectful of each other.
